But if any rich passengers wish to sail, even at the last moment, you will have to give up your places.” Betzalel wondered which jobs the captain would give them. Would they have to scrub the bunks clean? Suddenly he froze. Was that Chisdai on the deck listening in to the plan? Betzalel was shaken, but before he could warn Papa, Chisdai scrambled down the rope ladder and said, “Don’t tell on me! I promise I won’t say a word!”
